Nidhi Garg, MD

Research Director

Nidhi Garg, MD, FACEP is the Research Director for the Southside Hospital emergency department. She has over a decade of experience in research in emergency medicine. Dr. Garg grew up in India and went to medical school at Pt. B.D. Sharma P.G.I.MS. Rohtak, Haryana and came to the United States to pursue her residency training. She completed her residency in emergency medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens and stayed on for two years as Assistant Research Director and Assistant Program Director. She joined Northwell Health in 2015 as an Associate Program Director for the Zucker Emergency Medicine Program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. She moved to Southside Hospital in 2019 and focuses primarily on clinical research. She holds several peer reviewer positions nationally and has committee and office positions at the American College of Emergency Medicine (ACEP), Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) and New York chapter of ACEP. 

Her primary research focus is congestive heart failure (CHF) and she works with the Feinstein Institute very closely. She is passionate about the scholarly activities of residents and faculty and has played an integral role in various task forces related to scholarly activity. Her evolving interests are in big data and machine learning and she is currently undergoing training in those fields.

Dr. Garg enjoys dancing, kickboxing, and yoga.
