Dorothy Shi, MD

Dr. Dorothy Shi is an attending physician and the Associate Ultrasound Director at South Shore University Hospital. Dr. Shi is a native Long Islander from Mineola. She attended Boston University and then studied medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in NYC, where she also served as chief resident. She returned to Long Island to pursue her fellowship in point-of-care Emergency Ultrasound at Zucker School of Medicine at Northwell – North Shore/LIJ. She joined South Shore in summer 2020 to work with residents and students to develop their bedside ultrasound skills and foster interest in advancing the field of ED ultrasound.

Dr. Shi lives in LI with her husband and enjoys trekking out to NYC to satisfy her love of sushi, traveling to explore different cultures and biking around LI.
